Katherine could be my best friend, someone smart and pulled together for the world to see, but dealing with all kinds of emotional realities in her private life. The perception that a therapist must have it all together is pretty widespread, yet she can have just as much craziness going on in her life as her clients. The client characters are brought to life in living color, and while it's easy to see their craziness, the author also describes them in ways that let you see that their particular brand of craziness can exist in each of us. It is gratifying to see the clients learn from each other, and Katherine also learning from them without her ever letting them know she doesn't really have all the answers. Katherine's emotions in dealing with her clients and her own life are all too real, yet presented with humor and compassion. Particularly surprising was the compassion an "other woman" might feel for the man's wife. I could easily see the concept of this book being picked up as a TV series, it's that unique and good. I know I'd tune in each week (or binge watch it!!) (Are you listening Netflix?)Product details

Crazy Like Me edition by Erin Lee Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This stories interaction of therapy clients and their therapist was an affirmation for the power of listening and sharing of what life relationships bring.
If the characters in Crazy Like Me are anything like what a real therapist experiences in an average day, I need to quit therapy school. This group is enough to make your head spin. I love how Lee brings all their quirks together in this funny tale that deals with some very big, serious, and real issues. Crazy Like Me is a fun summer read for anyone who is curious about therapy, therapists, or what group therapy might be like. I’m glad I picked it up.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought all of Katherine's clients were well developed and many of the things they said and did throughout the book had me laughing out loud. Looking forward to more books from Erin Lee!
I fell in love with the characters in Crazy Like Me. I'm hoping for a sequel to find out what Katherine decides to do.
Katherine Murphy gives the reader a peek into the world of group therapy through the fascinating and quirky characters who she treats in her weekly sessions and her private office. But we also get to look behind her public facade to learn that even the well polished professional may have some of the same image issues, insecurities, and doubts that we all carry around. It's how her crazy clients interact with Katherine and each other that make this a fun, fast read.
Crazy Like MeI just finished reading Crazy Like Me and I have to say it is among the best reads to come around in a long time.
I really like the characters in this book, especially Katherine Murphy, is probably the coolest character I have read in a long time. The realism of the setting, in a therapist’s office, feels as though you are really there. Lee does a great job by making the therapy sessions seem real and how a therapist is supposed to listen to their patients and stuff. I also like how Katherine helps her patients to come up with their own answers to the questions they have like a therapist I had once. I seriously could not stop reading this book. I also like how funny her characters can be too. If I had to pick out anything negative about this book, I would have to say that I really wish that she would have spent a little bit more time with the characters Bobbi and Mackenzie. I think that they were two characters that could be lead characters themselves. Maybe she will do a spin off about them or something?
