Marshals Book One
Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones has a reputation for being calm and collected under fire. These traits serve him well with his hotshot partner, Ian Doyle, the kind of guy who can start a fight in an empty room. In the past three years of their life-and-death job, they've gone from strangers to professional coworkers to devoted teammates and best friends. Miro’s cultivated blind faith in the man who has his back… faith and something more.
As a marshal and a soldier, Ian’s expected to lead. But the power and control that brings Ian success and fulfillment in the field isn't working anywhere else. Ian’s always resisted all kinds of tied down, but having no home—and no one to come home to—is slowly eating him up inside. Over time, Ian has grudgingly accepted that going anywhere without his partner simply doesn't work. Now Miro just has to convince him that getting tangled up in heartstrings isn't being tied down at all.

Love, love, love this book and I have most definitely have fallen for Miro Jones but I'm so happy he's found his true love in Ian Doyle. I have a handful of favorite books (any genre) and this is one of them. Miro is the sweetest character, a true teacher in many ways, but he's not sappy - he's infinitely patient with Ian and with some others but he doesn't suffer fools and is so very loyal to Ian - he can't hear a bad word about the man...but that doesn't stop him from affectionately lambasting him himself. Both men are shaken to their very cores if the other is in any real danger and both are so protective of the other. Pure joy for the reader. Also his interaction with the two boys Cabot and Drake - oh that just melted me - he was big brother, protector, role model and so surprised and amused when he realized Ian had misdirected jealousies. He IS calmness, he IS sexy, he is funny, he is soothing - a better man can't be found in my opinion. What can I say, lucky Ian. I have this book in audio format and I think Tristan James is the narrator - he is perfection and he brings Ian and Miro to life (just like Paul Morey brings "A Matter of Time's" Jory and Sam to life). I have read and listened to this book over and over - its my very favorite go-to book - it soothes me to know Miro Jones is around. Another thing I like about this book it doesn't really weave around one plot - it has a lot of little happenings and I like that - its just all about the guys and how they handle things and each other. I think one of my favorite parts is when Miro realizes for the first time he can take things into his own hands...literally and figuratively. He purrs into Ian's ear and puts his love and affection out there for the first time. Bliss.Product details

All Kinds of Tied Down Marshals Book 1 edition by Mary Calmes Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Leave it to May Calmes to take the alpha dude/special forces/military/cop theme and turn it into one of her own, and to do it so extremely well.
I was so enthralled by the characters, Miro and Ian, I couldn't put it down. As a matter of fact, I was 1/4 of the way through and due to life I really hadn't been able to do the book justice, what with all sorts of interruptions and delays, that I decided to do a reboot and start over, something I never, ever do (there's one other exception, and its exceptional)and I'm so glad I did it.
Her writing is so good, smooth, it flows so well and she tells her characters just right. You get to know Miro and Ian's backgrounds in a natural, flowing way and she introduces what makes them tick, their emotions, wants and does it with just that right amount of humor.
She took me right down the story line and introduced the zinger twist close to the end so well (no spoiler, sorry, you'll have to find out yourself) that I never saw it coming, nor expect it, but it fit perfectly and made the story so much more delicious.
I was so satisfied with this book that it's perfect on its own, but I wouldn't be upset if she did some more Miro and Ian, they're such good characters.
Go ahead, enjoy it, I know I did.
WOW, if you thought Sam & Jory's romance was hot, wait there is a new set of boys in town that just might (maybe not) know the kings from the throne. And they are two of Sam's Marshalls.
Miro Jones (don't ask) and Ian Doyle have been partners and best friends for 3 years. But Miro has been keeping a secret, he is love with his "straight" partner. But things seem to take a different perspective when the sexual tension between these two get in the way. Will Ian be able to give in to his desires and realize Miro balances him at work and at home or will his fear of coming out and damaging his career with the Marshalls and the Army put a stop to either's happiness.
Lots of suspense, action and sexy time. Going on the need paperback copy and the re read list. And how could I for the man himself, Same Kage, "I'm aging here, Jones"
I stumbled upon this one and saw that it was the first in a series, so I figured it might be worth a try.
OMG! Miro and Ian are as close as you can get to Ty and Zane from the "Cut and Run" series--alpha law enforcement men, one of whom is gay (or in Ty's case, bi), and the other apparently straight. That's as far as the comparisons go because this one languishes in law enforcement capers until just past midway when the whole best-bud-partner thing comes to an explosive beginning as a friends-to-lovers thing--and it just doesn't stop.
The reason is that although Miro has always salivated after Ian, it's the latter whose chameleon transformation sets this book aflame with scene after scene of law enforcement action, lover's self doubt, and gentleness and kindness that seems somewhat incongruous. But it works.
And I am on to the next one
This book was recommended to me and before I was a quarter into it, I was invested not only in this book but the following two, no question.
I tend to prefer switching POVs, but Miro alone was able to convey the story, the histories, and the job that I felt like I had all the info to grasp these guys and their relationship.
I loved Miro's family as well as the other secondary characters.
Fast paced, interesting work scenarios, light on sex, big on feels. Definitely recommend.
Off to buy the next one.
So I decided to give Scribd a try and got a free trial. This was the first book I started and loved it so much that when Scribd deleted the damn thing from my library when I was at the 80% mark I actually raced to one click it on so I could finish it. (Don't get me started on my hate-hate relationship with Scribd. Let's just say the only good thing about it was it introduced me to Mary Calmes. Thank God for free trials.)
Anyhoo...I love action/adventure, Alphas, cops as heroes, friends-turned-lovers, and m/m romance so this really did it for me. And holy hotness, the scene on the airplane was so erotic, and they never even took their clothes off and nothing really even happened!
This was my first Mary Calmes book. I enjoyed it so much and was so intrigued by the "boss" I went on to read both A Matter of Time, Vol. 1 and A Matter of Time, Vol. 2. Both were books I had originally thought to skip, but after reading All Kinds of Tied Down I gave them a shot and was glad I did.
